Aden Quaiti Mint Stamps -

Until 1965 stamps of the Qu'aiti State in Hadhramaut like those of the Kathiri State were distributed by the Crown Agents. During 1966, 1967 and 1968 they were distributed by the same private agency that was responsible for issuing the Kathiri stamps. Two issued were produced by overprinting the Sultan Awadh definitives of 1963. By 1966 this ruler was deceased and had been succeeded by his son, Sultan Ghalib bin Awadh al-Qu'aiti, whose portrait appears on many of the later issues.

Prior to 1965 Qu'aiti stamps could be used throughout all of the Aden territories. It is far from clear whether this was the case for the later issues. All of these are denominated in fils, one fils being the 1/1000th part of the South Arabian dinar that was issued to replace the East African shilling in 1965.
